Subtitled landscapes

Walking around the island of La Réunion and having partly travelled to Italy, Mathilde offers a series of photographic works. Subtitles are a way to describe the noises heard in videos; it adopts this writing mode to describe what it hears as a deaf person through various landscapes. It's a game inversely: instead of captioning people who are deaf or hard of hearing, it will make its silence accessible, by adding subtitles, to people without hearing impairment.
